More specifically, he told the weekly British magazine - Radio Times:
"I am part of the lazy American generation that just had a good time and now I'm facing a health problem because of it. My weight fluctuations, for the sake of my roles, such as in the movie: Castaway and in the movie: Philadelphia, may be related to the diagnosis. I was overweight. You've seen me in movies. You know how I looked. I was completely stupid," he said to the surprise of the journalist who was listening to him. He stressed that "if I had a more balanced diet when I was young, I could have avoided the problems." "I thought I could avoid it by throwing away the bun from my burgers. The truth is that it took more than that. I had been fighting with my blood sugar for years, I went to the doctor and he told me 'you know the blood sugar levels you had in your tests since you were 36? You have Type 2 diabetes, dear.' Then he informed me that it is a condition I can control and now he assures me that if I reach the desired weight he has set for me, I will get rid of it once and for all."Diabetes Data:
